Curry Nanlamig! Golden State Falls To Washington

Stephen Curry saw his hot hand cool down as the Golden State Warriors suffered a 118-114 defeat to Washington Wizards in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines) at the Capital One Arena in Washington.

After scoring 30 or more points in his previous 11 games, Curry was held down to just 19 points against the Wizards on 7-of-25 shooting, including 2-of-14 from the free throw line.

Despite Curry’s atrocious shooting, the Warriors still had a shot of winning the game as they were on top 104-93 in the fourth quarter behind Jordan Poole and Kelly Oubre Jr.

The Wizards, however, answered with a huge run behind Daniel Gafford, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal and David Bertans to seize the advantage at 110-108.

The Warriors was hanging around at 114-116 on two-pointers by Curry with under a minute left but two free throws by Bertans sealed the victory for the Wizards.

Beal finished the match with double-double 29 points and 10 rebounds, while centers Gafford and Bertans contributed 19 markers apiece for Washington.

Raul Neto also had a solid offensive evening with 18 points, while Westbrook posted triple-double 20 rebounds, 14 points and 10 assists for the Wizards, which lost rookie Denk Avdija to season-ending injury.

The victory was huge for the Wizards (25-33) as it took over the no. 10 spot in the East from the Chicago Bulls (24-34), which lost to Cleveland Cavaliers (21-37), 121-105.

Oubre and Poole spearheaded the Warriors (29-30) with 24 and 22 markers, respectively, while Kent Bazemore contributed 19 markers and Andrew Wiggins ended with 14.
