The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a three-team trade to acquire Grant Williams, a restricted free agent from the Boston Celtics.
As part of the agreement, Williams will sign a four-year contract worth $53 million before being traded to Dallas. In exchange for Williams, the Mavericks will send Reggie Bullock, a pick swap, and two second-round draft picks to the San Antonio Spurs.
Meanwhile, the Celtics will receive three second-round picks.
Williams, who was selected as the 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, had a solid performance last season with an average of 8.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
He also demonstrated efficient shooting with a field goal percentage of 45.4 percent and a three-point shooting percentage of 39.5 percent.
In addition to this trade, the Mavericks are also pursuing Matisse Thybulle, a restricted free agent from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Thybulle is expected to sign a $33 million, three-year offer sheet with the Mavericks. However, the Trail Blazers will have a 48-hour window to decide whether to match the offer or decline it.
During his time with the Trail Blazers, Thybulle showcased his skills, averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. (Mark Patriarca)
