Dawn of the new era for Petron
Despite losing its big three of Rachel Daquis, Aby Maraño and Dindin Manabat in the off-season, Petron remains to be a title contender after it pulled off a casting coup to secure the services of former MVPs and collegiate star players.
Petron will now be bannered by former UAAP MVP/champion Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, former Adamson star spiker Bang Pineda, as well as former NCAA MVP CJ Rosario and Angel Legacion of Arellano University and including Cherry Rose Nunag of De La Salle-Dasmarinas.
Completing the Petron roster are key returnees Maica Morada, Ces Molina, Mayette Zapanta, Mina Aganon, setter Acy Masangkay, and libero Jen Reyes.
Petron, renamed as Tri-Activ Spikers, lost the hard hitting Mañabat to pregnancy, while former UAAP champion Daquis will suit up for Petron’s Super Liga rival, Philippine Army.
Maraño is yet to sign to another Super Liga team after her Petron contract expired (Ian Rosario)
