DeMar DeRozan losses chill, ejected after he throws ball at referee
San Antonio Spurs’ DeMar DeRozan was ejected in the Game 4 match against the Denver Nuggets with 5 minutes and one second remaining of the fourth quarter, Sunday (Manila time).
With the Spurs trailing 18 points behind the Nuggets, tensions were high and the Spurs were understandably vexed with their disarray. DeRozan went for a drive but was cut off by Nuggets’ Gary Harris. The referee gave him an offensive foul for the charge, and DeRozan threw the ball near referree Scott Foster out of frustration. He was then given two technical fouls by official Rodney Mott for his action.
DeRozan explained his side saying, “Frustration. I thought it was a bad call. Combination of both.”
The Spurs star only finished with 19 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. In the end, the Denver Nuggets came out victorious with 117-103, having tied the series at 2-2 for the first-round playoffs.
Hopefully, DeRozan won’t face any more consequences like a suspension after the ejection. Game 5 between the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs will be held at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday (Manila time).
