Despite missing basketball, Kiefer Ravena expresses concern for frontliners this pandemic
Just like every PBA players right now, Kiefer Ravena surely misses to step inside the gym or in the court so bad.
The NLEX Road Warriors guard actually couldn’t help himself but to reminisce the “normal” days where everyone could play basketball, unlike this pandemic where almost all outdoor activities are prohibited — including basketball.
“Missing basketball too much. Suspension, play a conference, pandemic, play in a bubble, pandemic,” Ravena wrote on Instagram, as he uploaded pictures of his stints in Ateneo and Gilas, and a group photo of his NLEX teammates.
The opening of PBA Season 46 was supposed to take place this April 18, but the strict implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces due to the spike of COVID-19 cases in the country forced the league to put that plan on hold.
“Manong” is well-aware that the pandemic is bigger than every one of us, and he hopes that the pandemic will be over as soon as possible.
“There are bigger things right in front of us that’s needed to be taken care off. Safety of our people, safety of our HCW and Frontliners. So i’m praying hard for this to happen and that the people in charge make the right decisions for the good of the people,” Ravena said.
“Just can’t help but reminsce about something that is “normal” to us. 🏀 in the streets, in school, in the park, in the village etc… Hoping this will be over soon and Praying for each and everyone of us.”
