Devance out for two weeks due to plantar fasciitis

Veteran Ginebra forward Joe Devance will be out for the next two weeks due to a plantar fasciitis on his right foot.

Devance was in street clothes during Barangay Ginebra’s 100-97 win over Phoenix Pulse on Sunday.

Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said the injury is not in the same foot that Devance had problems in the past.

“He is going to be out at least two weeks,” said Cone after Ginebra’s pulsating win.

The veteran mentor bared that Devance had to lose weight in order to prevent another recurrence of the injury in the future.

With Devance out, Cone is expecting the other guys to step up like Jervu Cruz and Aljon Mariano as Ginebra braces for a final push in the elimination round.

“We hope it’s only a couple of weeks, could be longer. But in the meantime, guys like Jervy (Cruz) and Aljon (Mariano) have to step up, that’s for sure,” said Cone.
