Kyrie Irving got his wish to be traded out of the Brooklyn Nets after he was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks in a two-team, four-player trade on Sunday (Monday in Manila).
According to multiple reports, Irving, a former top overall pick in the NBA, along with center Markieff Morris Sr., were shipped by the Nets to the Mavericks.
In exchange, the Nets acquired their former player Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Dallas’ 2029 first-round draft pick, and multiple second-round picks.
Irving, a one-time NBA champion, requested the trade out of the Nets over the weekend after negotiations for a contract extension reportedly bogged down.
Irving is set to arrive in Dallas as early as Monday for his physicals before making his Mavericks debut against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
