DLSU, San Beda emerges as Nonoy & Cuajao’s next destination
After deciding to leave the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, Mark Nonoy and Vince Deo Cuajao are choosing among De La Salle University Green Archers and San Beda University Red Lions as their next destination.
Phenom Sports Management’s Jax Chua, who handles the career of both Nonoy and Cuajao, said that Green Archers and Red Lions have emerged as the frontrunners among the teams that have talked to them.
However, Chua clarified that the La Carlota City, Negros Occidental-native Nonoy and Davaoeno Cuajao has yet to decided on where they want to play next but might choose one by Monday.
“I understand that people are excited on where Mark and Deo are headed but let us wait for them to decide on where they want to play next because their future is on the line here,” Chua said.
Nonoy, a former standout from Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix, played a key role for the Growling Tigers that placed runner up in UAAP Season 82. The Negrense guard was also named as Rookie of the Year.
Cuajao, on the other hand, was used sparingly by former Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo in his rookie season but have showed flourish during the offseason.
Prior to Nonoy and Cuajao, others who decided to leave the UST camp were CJ Cansino to the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, Ferdinand Asuncion to Mapua University Cardinals and Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller to Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights.
