Dondon Hontiveros assures fans: ‘Marc Pingris is stronger than I was’
With Marc Pingris’ injury, plus his age, fans felt worried that the Pinoy Sakuragi might just end his basketball again. But Dondon Hontiveros issued words of encouragement for Ping and his supporters.
The Star Hotshots veteran torn his ACL during the semifinals match against the NLEX Road Warriors last Saturday.
However, Pingris’ former teammate-turned-Alab Pilipinas player claims that fans have nothing to worry about. Hontiveros recalls in a Twitter post that when he was 34 and still playing in the PBA, he had torn his ACL but managed to bounce back and played 5-6 more years in the league.
“Every setback is a set-up for a great comeback,” said Hontiveros.
Pingris will be out for 6-8 months after his operation.
I tore my ACL when I was 34. And played 5-6 more years in the PBA. He is way stronger than I was. Fans should not be worried, He will be back soon. Every setback is a set-up for a great comeback. #Puso #Gilas2015 #PinoySakuragi https://t.co/4XV5CHbl8s
