Dwight Howard dismiss allegations over lawsuit filed by Masin Elije
Washington Wizards’ Dwight Howard is being sued by Masin Elije, claiming in a lawsuit filed in Georgia that the NBA star made “threats on his life”. However, Howard denied the allegations, saying that he has never even met the man.
Last November, news sparked between Howard and Elije in a series of tweets accusing the Wizards’ center and his pastor, Calvin Simmons, of sexual harassment, threatening, and manipulation.
Elije admitted that he was in a relationship with Howard who was cheating on him with another transgender woman. He also revealed that Howard threatened to “beat the s–t out of him” unless he signed and agreed on a non-disclosure agreement.
Yesterday, Robert Littal of Black Sports Online reported. “The details of the lawsuit are unknown, but it is a civil lawsuit, so it is monetary. Elije confirmed to BSO that a lawsuit has been filed but can’t speak on an ongoing case, attempts to reach Dwight Howard were unsuccessful.”
Howard made a statement to TMZ Sports, denying knowledge about Elije and calling the lawsuit a “money grab.”
“I don’t know this person, never seen him,” Howard said. “Any allegation said about me is false.”
TMZ Sports stated that Elije is demanding punitive damages for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and is also asking the judge to force the 8-time NBA All Star to cover all of his legal expenses.
Howard is already planning to take legal countermeasures of his own and has already lawyered up, according to TMZ. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
