Dyip stun Rain or Shine to end 9-game skid
The Columbian Dyip halted Rain or Shine’s momentum, 100-84, to claim their first victory in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup on Friday at the Ynares Center.
The Columbian squad could not be contained throughout the warfare, even leading by as much 20-6 in the first canto.
The Dyip never looked back, as Akeem Wright scored a lay-up to give Dyip their biggest advantage of the game, 91-70.
Wright posted 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Columbian. Jerramy King scored 18 points while Rashad McCarthy and Ronald Tubid had 16 apiece.
After nine empty outings, Columbian finally tasted their first win to avoid a winless campaign.
Dyip would also break their 25-game losing streak in the season-ending conference.
Meanwhile, Terrence Watson registered 18 points and 10 rebounds while Maverick Ahanmisi listed 16 points.
After their back-to-back wins, Rain or Shine fell down to a 2-5 record.
