Pinay tennis ace Alex Eala marched her way to the second round of the W25 Roehampton at the National Tennis Centre of the Lawn Tennis Association in Great Britain on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old also advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles event of the same tourney.
Eala, the sixth seed in the tournament, took down Gabriella Da Silva Fick of Australia 6-3, 6-4.
She is set to take on doubles partner Destanee Aiava of Australia in the second round on Thursday.
Eala and Aiava partnered in a 7-5, 6-2 victory against Julie Belgraver of France and Ella McDonald of Great Britain in the women’s doubles.
They will seek to upset No. 1 seeds Talia Gibson and Petra Hule of Australia in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
