Alex Eala won her second title of the season and fourth overall on the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour by battling past second seed Arina Rodionova of Australia, 6-2, 6-3, in the W25 Roehampton finals at the National Tennis Centre in Great Britain on Sunday.
The 18-year-old Pinay added the crown to her list of professional titles from the 2023 W25 Yecla in Spain, the 2022 W25 Chiang Rai in Thailand, and the 2021 W15 Manacor on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
On her way to the final, Eala, the 2022 US Open Juniors singles winner, defeated three Australians before eliminating Dutch third seed and 208th-ranked Arianne Hartono in the semifinals.
She ousted 201st-ranked top seed Priscilla Hon in the quarterfinals, World No. 289 Destanee Aiava in the second round, and World No. 781 qualifier Gabriella Da Silva Fick in the first round.
