Boxer Eman Bacosa Pacquiao has filed a formal complaint before the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) against opponent Rodelyn Perez and referee Jerold Tomeldan following their Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) lightweight championship bout on June 21 in Muntinlupa City.
Pacquiao’s camp lodged separate disciplinary complaints on Friday, alleging that Perez repeatedly landed illegal “rabbit punches” during the championship fight at the DRT Gymnasium.
The complaint also accused Tomeldan of failing to penalize Perez for punches allegedly directed at the back of Pacquiao’s head, which are prohibited under boxing rules.
In a sworn affidavit dated June 26, Pacquiao’s manager, Joanna Rose B. Dino, claimed that Perez delivered multiple dangerous and illegal blows throughout the contest.
Perez defeated Pacquiao by majority decision in the bout, where the son of eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao was knocked down three times. (AC)
