The Enderun College Lady Titans conquered slow starts in the first two sets and secured a 27-25, 25-22, 25-14 victory against Notre Dame of Dadiangas in the Shakey’s Super League (SSL) National Invitationals on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Erika Jin Deloria earned the title of Player of the Game for her outstanding performance, tallying 16 points with 14 attacks, one block, and a service ace while playing for the Luzon qualifier Lady Titans.
Bacolod City-native Deloria played a pivotal role for Enderun in the second set, leading them to overturn a 15-20 deficit into a 25-22 victory. She then continued to spearhead the school’s impressive start in the third set, resulting in a straight-set win.
“Credit to Notre Dame for playing a great game. We had a slow start in the first two sets, but our coach reminded us to stay focused and always think of our goal,” Deloria said.
Althea Virnyce Botor led the scoring for the Lady Titans with an impressive 17 points, and setter Rhean Hebraica Almendralejo showcased efficient ball distribution throughout the 83-minute match.
“Medyo tight ‘yung start namin kasi this is the first time we played in this kind of atmosphere. Slow start, but luckily, we won. The girls played their hearts out lalo na ‘nung kailangan na namin ng puntos,” said Enderun coach Ariel Dela Cruz.
Andrea Sendico contributed 10 points, leading the way for the General Santos City-based Notre Dame school.
