EYA Laure and several other members of the Alas Pilipinas Women’s team have been included in the Philippine delegation for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The Philippine Olympic Committee released the official lineup for the women’s volleyball team, with Laure joining Marion Alba, Mhicaela Belen, Angel Canino, Dawn Macandili-Catindig, Julia Morado-De Guzman, Thea Gagate, Justine Jazareno, Dell Palomata, Amie Provido, Erika Santos and Alyssa Solomon.

The final roster differs from an earlier leaked list, which included Ma. Angelica Cayuna, Vanessa Gandler, Shaina Nitura and Mereofe Sharma. Those players were not part of the official composition released by the POC.

Laure’s inclusion also came as a development after her name was initially absent from an earlier list. She was among the players who suited up for the Philippines in the final two matches of the recent SEA V Cup.

The official Asian Games rosters were announced by the POC as part of the completion of the Philippine delegation for the quadrennial multi-sport competition.

Several players on the final list did not see action for Alas Pilipinas during the SEA V Cup, while some inclusions came as a surprise after reports that they would be unavailable because of personal commitments.

The Philippines most recently competed in the second leg of the 6th SEA V Cup in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where Alas Pilipinas Women captured the silver medal.

The team’s SEA V Cup roster included Alba, Evangeline Alinsug, Belen, Catindig, De Guzman, Gagate, Jazareno, Laure, Celine Marsh, Palomata, Santos, Sharma, Solomon and Niña Ytang.

At the Asian Games, the Philippine women’s volleyball team has been drawn into Pool B alongside powerhouse China and Kazakhstan.

The 20th Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, later this month. (Adrian Co)
