As the matches in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational progress, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego emphasizes the importance of stronger cohesion between the team’s veteran players and newcomers.
Diego stresses the need for her team to expedite the process of building chemistry in this condensed one-month conference if they aspire to secure their inaugural PVL championship.
The Cargo Movers have welcomed three new additions to their roster, namely Jolina dela Cruz and Marionne Alba, former players of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, and Jovelyn Fernandez, a former member of the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws.
“We have to gel more because there are new ones inside the court and the leadership kailangan pa namin buuin kasi ang dami pang adjustments because we’re not like other teams na buo na yung First Six ever since,” Diego said.
“Halos kalahati ng team namin bago yung starters. I’m happy na I have a lot of options now, but we have to make sure that they gel together, they know what to do every time kasi yung mga lapses namin happen because hindi pa sila ganon ka-connected,” she added.
Diego added that the one-week break in the PVL schedule, allocated for the Volleyball Nations League hosting, presents a valuable opportunity for her players to make the necessary adjustments.
“We have to prepare for the next match because every match naman is very important to us, and this break should help us na maayos yung mga lapses namin this game and last game,” said Diego.
With a 2-0 record, the Cargo Movers find themselves in a tie for first place with the Choco Much Flying Titans in Pool B. Both teams have three games remaining in the competition.
