The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers have a chance to duplicate their best-ever finish in the Premier Volleyball League.
This was after they earned a shot at the bronze medal of the PVL Invitational following their 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 victory over Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh of Vietnam on Friday night at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The Regine Diego-mentored Cargo Movers will face Cignal HD Spikers in the one-game battle for third place on Sunday, preceding the finale between Creamline Cool Smashers and Kurashiki Ablaze of Japan.
“It’s been very hard for the team; we’ve been to losses after losses, but we’re very happy to be back in the semis,” said Diego. “I wish mas maging okay kami sa next game. I’m proud of these girls; I just want them to be healthy and enjoy the game all the time.”
Myla Pablo and Aby Maraño spearheaded the Cargo Movers’ triumph with 20 and 18 points, respectively, while Ivy Lacsina and Mary Joy Baron contributed 15 markers apiece in the win.
“We gave our best, and we’re happy for this win since we’re in for the battle for third,” said Baron, who was named the Player of the Game after delivering the pivotal points of the match.
Nguyen Huong scored 19 points, while Phan My and Le Xuan added 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh, which finished their guest stint in the PVL without a win in five games.
