FARM Fresh Foxies closed its 2026 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference campaign on a winning note, sweeping Ho Chi Minh City, 25-10, 25-15, 25-15, to finish fifth on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Foxies snapped a four-game losing streak with a dominant 67-minute performance, controlling the Vietnamese side from start to finish.
Trisha Tubu provided the early spark for Farm Fresh, scoring 10 of her 14 points in the opening set. The Foxies turned a tight 9-8 contest into a rout after putting together a 10-1 run for a 19-9 cushion.
Farm Fresh never allowed Ho Chi Minh City to recover, maintaining control throughout the final two sets to secure the straight-set victory.
Head coach Koji Tsuzurabara said the team still has plenty to work on as it adjusts to the evolving style of volleyball in the PVL.
“Yes, I appreciate the Ho Chi Minh team. This tournament, my team saw no good result. First, I think, I think, [we need to] change the volleyball style. After the last PVL [conference with] import, all team [made a] difference [in] team style,” Tsuzurabara said.
“Last year’s PVL volleyball and this year’s PVL volleyball style are different. So, we need more practice. So, we need to react to the new volleyball. We have to look for a new volleyball style. Now, different: one year ago, PVL volleyball, and now volleyball—big difference,” he added.
Ces Molina matched Tubu’s 14-point output while also contributing eight excellent receptions and seven excellent digs. Jonna Perdido added 13 points and Riri Meneses finished with 11 for the Foxies.
Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy registered 12 excellent sets and two points, while Buding Duremdes contributed 12 excellent digs.
Dang Thi Kim Thanh and Ho Thi Bich Diep led Ho Chi Minh City with 10 points apiece. (Adrian Co)
