FEU Tams ram over Falcons

Major comeback from FEU!

The Tamaraws out fended off Adamson Soaring Falcons, 83-71, in the UAAP Season 82 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena, on Saturday September 28.

FEU had the upper hand the whole game, despite Adamson’s effort to inch closer.

From a five-point lead, 55-50, FEU blasted a 13-2 surge entering the payoff period courtesy of Xyrus Torres’ back-to-back triples.

“It wasn’t easy to come back from our previous loss. All of a sudden, we doubled it in today’s game,” said FEU consultant Nash Racela.

With that win, the Morayta-based squad avenged their 39-61 loss against NU on Wednesday, improving their standings at 3-4 — which is also the same record with the Adamson and La Salle.

Pat Tchuente was a force for FEU with season-high 21 points, 19 rebounds, and six blocks, while Xyrus Torres blazed 21 points and five rebounds.

The Falcons suffered back-to-back defeats at the end of first round, despite a 14-point and 7-rebound output from Val Chauca.
