Fil-Am Clarkson Stays with Utah, Fox Remains A King
Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson has agreed to a four-year extension, while De’Aaron Fox also will remain with the Sacramento Kings at the start of NBA free agency on Friday (Saturday in the Philippines).
In a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Clarkson’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports announced the four-year $52 million deal signed by Clarkson.
Jazz were determined to re-sign Clarkson after his trade from Cleveland Cavaliers last season. He became an elite bench scorer for Jazz coach Quin Snyder as he normed 15.6 points per game off the bench.
Aside from Clarkson, the Jazz was also able to renew the contract of center Derrick Favors, who agreed to a three-year, nearly $30 deal to remain with Utah.
Meanwhile, Fox has agreed to a five-year, $163M maximum extension with the Kings with clause to reach the $195.6M super max, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
