The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers have added depth to their guard rotation as they secured the commitment of Filipino-American Vincent Ventulan.
The 23-year-old Ventulan said he is very much looking forward to helping the Growling Tigers in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament later this year.
“I am ready and excited to come and play for UST. It’s a good opportunity for me,” Ventulan said in an interview with the 3B Hoops Facebook page.
Ventulan shared that the Growling Tigers coaching staff has been persistent in recruiting him for the past few months, as they have been in constant contact with his parents.
The 6-foot-4 guard last played for Ave Maria University Gyrenes in Florida after spending his previous collegiate years with Mitchell College in Connecticut and Johnson & Wales in Miami.
Ventulan is eligible to play for one season with the Growling Tigers in the upcoming UAAP season.
“I am just prepared, keep getting better and see how far I can go in playing basketball. I want to see what my limits are,” Ventulan said.
“I can play (any position). I am trying to put on some muscle lately,” he added. “Whatever position is available for me to play (in UST), I will try and play.” (AC)
