Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) President and Strong Group Athletics (SGA) Chairman Frank Lao has stepped in to support the Rizal Technological University (RTU) men’s volleyball team after the student-athletes sought assistance for their training jerseys.
In its letter, the RTU men’s volleyball team explained that it needed training jerseys for upcoming practices and competitions. The players said the uniforms would represent their unity, discipline and pride as student-athletes.
However, the team noted that raising funds for the jerseys had become difficult because its members also had to prioritize tuition, school-related expenses and daily necessities.
The players then appealed for financial assistance or sponsorship to make the project possible.
“Any amount or form of support you can extend will be deeply appreciated,” the team said in its request.
Lao, who also chairs Strong Group Athletics, responded to the appeal and arranged to extend help to the squad.
The assistance provides support for the RTU players as they balance their academic responsibilities with preparations for their volleyball competitions.
Lao has been involved in various sports initiatives through the PNVF and SGA, including programs aimed at supporting Filipino athletes and developing grassroots talent. (Adrian Co)
