Garcia to Pacman: Pasa Mo Sa Akin Ang Korona!
At just 22 years of age, Ryan Garcia has established himself as one of the most talented boxers talented today.
But in order for him to be truly great, Garcia knows that he has to face the best fighters in his young career — specifically, he targets to face American boxer Gervonta Davis and Philippines’ own Manny Pacquiao.
In fact, the California native even wants the eight-division world champion to pass the torch to him, even though they belong in a different weight division.
“I feel like he’s a great fighter, and he’s a legend. He’s an eight-time world champion, he came from the dirt all the way to [being] a senator in the Philippines,” he said in his interview with Rich Eisen.
“And now, guess what, it’s my turn. After Gervonta, hopefully, we can share that ring together and please pass that torch to me?”
Proclaiming himself as “King Ryan”, Garcia holds a professional win-loss record of 21-0 with 18 KOs — one of which came from a recent seventh-round TKO against Luke Campbell to become the WBC Interim Lightweight Champion.
