Giannis Antetokounmpo wants Bucks to start strong against Raptors in Game 1

Coming into the Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday (Manila time), superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo pointed out that Milwaukee Bucks should snatch the Game 1 against the unstoppable Toronto Raptors at all costs. He also said that facing the Raptors is much more different than facing the Boston Celtics in the semifinals.
“Against Boston, you can go down 1-0 and still be fine,” Antetokounmpo told at the practice.
It can be remembered that the Celtics took the Game 1 of the semifinals against them with a 22-point deficit. The Bucks did win the last 4 games of the series, but The Greek Freak doubts they would have the luxury of letting their guards down against the Raptors. Antetokounmpo shared that this time, they need to step up and take the Game 1 against them.
“But against Toronto, it’s hard to be in that spot when you lose the first game in your home,” he added.
The Bucks forward also expressed his thoughts about the thrilling Game 7 of the Raptors vs the Philadelphia 76ers. Antetokounmpo admitted that he thought the game would extend further, not end the way it miraculously did.
“I’m not gonna lie, I thought it was gonna go to overtime,” he shared.
“I was talking to my family. I was watching the game, and I told them that Toronto has some soft rims, so when you shoot the ball, it tends to bounce around the rim, and it goes in sometimes, so you always have a chance if you shoot the ball with an arc. And I was saying that, and in the fourth quarter, he hit the shot.”
Now, the true strength of the Antetokounmpo’s Bucks will be tested as they go all out against Leonard’s Toronto Raptors in this much-anticipated Eastern Conference Finals.
