Gilas Pilipinas team manager Butch Antonio confirmed on Monday that Kai Sotto would not join the national team’s stint in a pocket tournament in China this week.
“Kai is not joining the team in China,” Antonio said in a report from ESPN.
According to Antonio, Sotto will continue his therapy for his injured back.
Meanwhile, Sotto posted an Instagram story on Monday where he showed a glimpse of the therapy on his back.
The pocket tournament will be held from August 2 to 6, and Gilas is scheduled to face Iran, Lebanon, and Senegal. (MJD)
