The Filipinas dethroned the Malaysians in a comeback fashion, 81-75, over the weekend to set up a gold medal match against Thailand, a team bannered by former WNBA draftee Tiffany Bias and has won the tournament five times with the last time coming from 2013.
Coach Pat Aquino wants her girls to stay hungry and focus for the 6pm showdown Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“This is it. This is what we’ve worked hard for, for the longest time,” he said.
