Gilas Pilipinas Youth rolled to its second win by crushing Thailand, 85-49, in the 2023 U16 SEABA Championship at the GOR Kertajaya Surabaya in Indonesia.
Kieffer Alas paced the young Pinoys with 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Kurt Velasquez added 12 points and grabbed four boards, while Joaquin Ludovice scored 10.
Gilas trailed the Thais 3-2 but seized control by building an eight-point lead at the end of the first. The gap became a 39-24 lead at the half, and the Thais did not recover after that.
The Filipinos led by as much as 36 points.
Gilas will be wrapping up their campaign with a game against Indonesia on Wednesday.
Only the top two teams after the tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIBA U16 Asia Championships in Doha, Qatar, in September.
