Ginebra’s Brownlee back as import for PH team
Ginebra reinforcement Justin Brownlee is back in the Philippine basketball scene, this time as import for the Philippine Mighty Sports which will participate in the 2017 Dubai International Basketball Championship rom Feb.18 to 25 in UAE.
Brownlee returned just four months after the Gin Kings’ historic Governor’s Cup championship and will be joining former NBA Draft second pick and 7-foot-3 Hasheem Thabeet to beef up the Mighty Sports roster that already includes explosive duo of Jeron Teng and Kiefer Ravena.
Brownlee’s other new teammates also include former PBA MVP Willie Miller, scoring champion Gary David and former Gilas’ naturalized center Marcus Douthit.
Brownlee ended the Gin Kings’ eight-year title drought in the Governor’s Cup after averaging 27 points, 11 rebounds and three assists in six outings against Meralco Bolts. (Alex Cerado)
