Ginulat sa kanyang puso! Kai Sotto shows courage and bright promise in Gilas debut
Kai Sotto made a solid debut for Gilas Pilipinas senior’s team, which led to a thrilling victory over South Korea in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
Gilas head coach Tab Baldwin commended the 7-foot-4 for his effort and confidence that he displayed, despite only joining the team just few days after he cleared his 14-day quarantine.
“I think what we saw from Kai is a very young player who wasn’t really well-prepared,” Baldwin said.
“But what a heart he has.
Sotto finished the game with 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.
On the other hand, Gilas fans were all hyped up to see the 19-year old don the national team jersey, and he did not disappoint at all.
Most netizens were actually impressed with Sotto’s improvement on the court, which only gave them enough reason to believe that the NBA prodigy will make a name for himself overseas.
