GOAT import? Brownlee breaks record for most career 3-pointer by an import
Justin Brownlee’s first three-pointer in Game 2 of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between Ginebra and Meralco on Tuesday night was a historic one.
Just 54 seconds into the match, Brownlee became breaks Lamont Strothers’ record for most three-pointer made by a PBA import.
As per the league’s stats chief Fidel Mangonon III, it was the 326th trey of his PBA career, pushing him past Lamont Strothers (325) for all-time most threes made by an import in league history.
Brownlee finished the game 35 points alongside, built with 4 three-pointers, alongside 11 rebounds. However, the feat just became a mere silver-lining as the Gin Kings bowed to the Bolts, 102-104.
Strothers racked up his career triples in five years with the San Miguel Beermen, whom he helped win two PBA titles.
Brownlee, on the other hand, broke the record in just 4 years with the Gin Kings.
