Green Archers rip Ayo-led UST


The De La Salle Green Archers pummelled UST Growling Tigers, 99-72, in UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City on Wednesday, October 3.

La Salle gave former head coach Aldin Ayo and the rest of the Growling Tigers a headache as early as first quarter, 28-13.

The Green Archers never looked back once they got their momentum, as they led by as much as 30 points. Meanwhile, UST suffered another blowout loss once again.

“We played 40 minutes sa highest level. Everybody contributed, everybody played to the highest level, said La Salle head coach Louie Gonzales.

Five players from Green Archers scored double-digit points.

Justine Baltazar tallied career-high 22 points, while Aljun Melecio added 19 markers.

Andrei Caracut would provided 13 points, while Jollo Go and Santi Santillan had 10 apiece.

La Salle improved their standing at 3-2 win-loss slate, while UST dropped at 1-4.

For UST, Renzo Subido chalked up 16 points while Marvin Lee and Zach Huang had 10 markers each.
