Gretchen Ho Honors Fallen WWII Soldiers
For Gretchen Ho, Hawaii is more than just a paradise where you can enjoy the beach. It’s also a historic haven.
On her Instagram post, Ho narrated what she had felt during her visit at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu. The volleyball star-turned-TV host said that the place brought her to silence after imagining herself in a soldier’s shoes who died during the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

In loving memory of those who died in Pearl Harbor during World War 2. This place brought me to silence. When you read about it in history books it seems just like a movie. But when you’re actually there, you realize how real it is, and somehow, you imagine yourself in those soldiers’ shoes. How unfortunate. Over 1000 died December 7, 1941. USS Arizona still remains under the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii.
