Gretchen Ho on Subic Tryouts – “Personal safety is always a valid reason”
As volleyball stars like Alyssa Valdez and Jia Morado fail to show up on national team tryouts, Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Tats Suzara said he won’t give a second chance.
Kim Fajardo, Myla Pablo, Kim Dy, Denden Lazaro, Dawn Macandili, Maddie Madayag and Kat Tolentino also did not participate, despite getting an invitation.
Ho, the MVP Sports Foundation Ambassador, believes that securing personal safety is always a valide excuse, ending her statement with, “Let’s respect each one’s personal decisions.”
One’s personal safety is always a valid reason.
Hard decisions have to be made during this pandemic that not only include the self, but have to take into consideration the welfare of family, team, and others.
Let’s respect each one’s personal decisions.
