Basketball’s G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) Michael Jordan had an epic flu game wherein he scored 38 points to lead Chicago in a Game 5 NBA Finals road win vs. the Utah Jazz.

Philips’ team captain Michele Gumabao proved that she could do the just the same, even if she vomited ahead of the all-important game.

Philips’ Team manager Eric Anthony Ty disclosed in his Instagram account that Gumabao was so sick before her team’s Battle for Third showdown vs. Foton in Super Liga but the former La Salle star still gutted it out en route to 20 points on top of nine excellent digs to lead her team in a 25-20, 25-20, 15-25, 17-25, 15-11 thrilling win vs. Foton.

“Thanks, Captain. You fought off the effects of flu, survived vomiting before the game and severe dehydration and led your team to victory,” Ty said of his team skipper.

“We made the right choice in making you our Captain,” Ty added.

But we are not really surprised of Gumabao’s exploits. After all, Gumabao is a three-time UAAP champion out of La Salle and a former UAAP Finals MVP.

Gumabao confirmed on her Twitter account on Wednesday that she is still recovering from flu.
