Harris Go-Ahead Basket Lifts Philadelphia Past LA Lakers
Tobias Harris drained a go-ahead basket as Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 107-106 victory over Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines) at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
After seeing its once 14-point edge turned into a 106-105 deficit, Harris converted a two-pointer from a pass by Seth Curry to give the 76ers a 107-106 upperhand with three seconds left.
With no more timeouts remaining, Lakers forward Anthony Davis was forced to launch a three-pointer from beyond midcourt but to no avail as Philadelphia escaped with the win.
Harris finished the match with 24 points to go along with seven rebounds as the 76ers remained on top of Eastern Conference standings with 13-6 win-loss record.
Joel Embiid led the way with 28 points, Ben Simmons had triple-double 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while Daniel Green contributed 14 markers for the 76ers.
LeBron James finished with 34 points, Davis added 28 markers and Dennis Schroder contributed 16 as the defending champions Lakers dropped to 14-5 still on top of the West.
