Hawks overpower Thunders, 142-126
Atlanta Hawks used all of its might to beat the Oklahoma City Thunders in the 4th quarter, Wednesday morning (Manila time).
Rookie Trae Young garnered 24 points and 11 assists, denying the Thunders’ victory with a final score of 142-126.
With John Collins scoring 26 points and Alex Len making 24 points and 11 rebounds, the Hawks took the lead and beat the Thunders in the last quarter.
However, Thunders’ superstar Russell Westbrook gave a good fight with 31 points and 11 assists while Paul George and Jerami Grant scored 24 and 21 points respectively.
The Hawks played a “welcome back” video tribute for former point guard Dennis Schroder who raised 21 points in his return to Atlanta.
As part of the Hawks’ 50-year celebration in Atlanta, the team wore their brand-new blue uniforms for the first time. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
