‘Hindi Ako Benta’ Bonbon Batiller thanks his haters for motivation

Bonbon Batiller simply proved his doubters wrong.

The 25-year-old guard finally got the taste of his first championship in his collegiate career when the Letran Knights dispatched the San Beda Red Lions, 81-79, to take home the Season 95 championship trophy.

However, Batiller’s road to Finals was not that smooth.

First, Batiller struggled in the first round of the season after recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

The worst part is that he had to endure the fans’ criticisms on social media, and even worse is that Batiller was accused of “benta gaming”.

The heat even flared up for the former UE guard when he fumbled his game-winning lay-up in Game 2, which left him in tears after that matchup.

Fortunately, Batiller made it all up with his 19 big points, and for him, none of those matter already since he now has a ring.

“Sobrang sarap sa feeling. Para sa akin, erase ko na. Ieerase ko na yung mga nagdududa sa akin, yun ang motivation ko. Kapag nag-champion ako tanggal lahat.”

For his doubters who were harsh against him, this was his message.

“Thank you sa inyo. Thank you sa mga pagdududa niyo sa akin. Mas lalo kong ginalingan,” Batiller said.

“Kayo naging inspirasyon ko na patunayan sa inyo na hindi ako benta.”
