SAN Miguel Corp. (SMC) sports director Alfrancis Chua will be personally meeting 7-foot Greg Slaughter in the next few days to hear about his side regarding his decision to skip playing for Barangay Ginebra.
Slaughter, who is hoping for a Ginebra comeback, personally apologized to Chua and SMC big boss Ramon S. Ang for taking a sabbatical and training to US for “self-improvement.”
“Kailangan nating tingnan kung ano talaga ang reasoning kung bakit. Hindi naman tayo ganun kasalbahe na hindi natin papakinggan yung reason behind that,” Chua said.
Despite the 32-year old’s absence, Ginebra were still able to win a Philippine Cup championship inside the Clark bubble.
Although Chua doesn’t guarantee that Slaughter will automatically make his comeback with Gin Kings, he assured that everything will be discussed personally.
“Kami na lang siguro. Kami na lang muna ang mag-uusap siguro baka personal yung sa kanya,” he said. “Kaming dalawa lang siguro ok na.”
