MICHAEL Jordan has donated his earnings from the acclaimed documentary series “The Last Dance” to charitable causes.
The 10-part documentary chronicled the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 championship campaign and Jordan’s final season with the franchise.
According to Forbes, Jordan earned between $3 million and $4 million from the documentary. Rather than keep the money, however, the NBA legend decided to donate his entire share to charity.
Jordan spent 13 seasons with the Bulls and guided the franchise to six NBA championships. He went undefeated in six NBA Finals appearances, adding to a résumé that included five MVP awards and numerous other honors.
Forbes estimated Jordan’s net worth at approximately $2.1 billion at the time of the report, largely built through his basketball career and extensive business ventures.
“The Last Dance” provided an unprecedented look at Jordan and the Bulls’ pursuit of their sixth championship, featuring previously unreleased footage from the 1997-98 season and interviews with key figures from the team. (Adrian Co)
