Hugnatan is still a huge headache for Ginebra
Reynel Hugnatan and the rest of the Meralco Bolts forced a Game 7 series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 98-91 on Wednesday at the Philippine Arena.
Ginebra still cannot devise a defensive plan for Hugnatan once again, as he finished with 21 points and 6-of-12 from outside the arc. In addition, he was hailed as the Best Player for Game 6.
Filling the gap of Ranidel De Ocampo’s absence in the rotation, the veteran from Bacolod was more than ready to rise to the occasion.
“Naisip ko na kailangan ko talagang mag-step up kasi wala na kaming big guys,” said the lefty big man who finally found his shooting touch. “Buti naman gumaganda yung shooting ko at gumanda laro ko.”
Most fans on Twitter were also in awe with the old-reliable’s performance.
100% respect for Reynel Hugnatan. Kahit mukha siyang lumang tao, he is definitely playing like a hot-shooting phenom. 👍🏼👍🏼

Once a player gets old, he usually loses his shooting touch. It's the complete opposite for Reynel Hugnatan. #PBAfinals2017
