Huwag Kayong Maniwala Alfrancis Chua denies Greg Slaughter’s trade rumors
Alfrancis Chua finally broke his silence regarding the trade rumor surrounding Greg Slaughter.
The 7-foot tower first made shockwaves in the realm of PBA when he announced that he will be taking a break by not renewing his expiring contract with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Numerous reports came out that Ginebra were planning to trade Slaughter in order to acquire NorthPort’s Christian Standhardinger,
However, the SMC sports director denied all those speculations saying that no one should ever believe in those trade rumors, not unless the information came from the franchise itself.
“Sinong nagsabi ng rumor na iyon? Kung hindi galing sa amin, huwag kayong maniwala,” Chua said during the PBA press conference in Monday at the Conrad Hotel
“Kung may trade rumor, punta kayo ng PBA kung may sinubmit kami na trade form.”
Chua also stated that he will not convince Slaughter to renew his contract with the Ginebra, since both parties never spoke to each other right after the team won the 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup title.
“So I guess, sila Tim (Cone) ang nakapagusap. Nagsabi si Tim na gusto raw magpahinga so nasa sa kanya ‘yun. Gusto niya magpahinga,” the SMC official shared.
“Hindi naman siguro kailangan kasi wala naman siyang ni-reach out kahit sino. Again, that’s his decision. He is old enough. No one or me to question him bakit niya ginawa, bakit ganito, kasi matanda na. Nasa tamang edad na siya para makapag-desisyon kung ano talaga ‘yung pakay niya or what he wants. So respetuhin na lang natin.”
