Injured Pogoy, Fajardo, Aguilar participate in Gilas’ first practice session

Roger Pogoy, June Mar Fajardo, and Japeth Aguilar attended Gilas Pilipinas’ first practice on Wednesday while still recovering from their respective injuries.

Fajardo, who suffered an MCL injury last March, is still on the final stretch of his recovery phase. Meanwhile, Aguilar and Pogoy are still recovering from an MCL and finger injury, respectively.

The other players who were present in the practice were Poy Erram, Carl Tamayo, CJ Perez, Rhenz Abando, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., AJ Edu, Chris Newsome, Angelo Kouame, Scottie Thompson, and Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena.

According to reports, the practice was short, and coach Chot Reyes told the players that they would return on Monday.

Justin Brownlee was unable to attend the practice as he is in the US to attend to a family matter. Jordan Clarkson will only join the squad six weeks before the World Cup, and Kai Sotto is also in the US as he pursues his NBA dream.

Gilas is scheduled to conduct a training camp at the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna next week before they leave for Europe, where they will continue their build-up for the World Cup. (MJD)
