Jalalon will be better than Thompson if…
Rookie Jio Jalalon from Arellano U can be a better PBA player than recently crowned champion Scottie Thompson of Ginebra.
That is, if he will play heavy minutes in the Star roster, per hoops analysts Charles Tiu and Mico Halili.
“He (Jalalon) creates better than Scottie Thompson and he’s improved his jump shot. There is room for improvement. He’s heading into right direction,” Tiu said over CNN Sportsdesk.
Tiu also thinks that Jalalon has the making of a superstar, provided that the Star Hotshots will unload some of their point guards.
Star already has Mark Barroca, PJ Simon and Justin Melton to do the playmaking chores. Star also acquired Paul Lee from Rain or Shine in exchange of James Yap.
“I’ve talked to several coaches and they believe that Jalalon can produce the same numbers (in NCAA) in the PBA, Halili said. “It’s a case of too good to pass up and worry about reconfiguring the line up later.”
Star recently sent RR Garcia to San Miguel Beermen in a three-team trade with Mahindra. In return, the Hotshots get Aldrech Ramos.
