James Laput is getting so much playing time in the PBA On Tour preseason tournament that more people are finally recognizing his basketball skills and his looks.
On his Twitter page, @PBAinsider noticed that Laput is imitating Dillon Brooks’ hairstyle.
“James Laput is unquestionably going for the Dillon Brooks look. Lol,” PBA Insider posted on Twitter.
Laput commented with two laughing emojis on the post and retweeted it.
Aside from his looks, Laput’s basketball skills have improved, which impressed Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.
“Right now, we’re at a stage where we want to develop our players, and this is the time when we want James Laput to have this experience with the other guys,” Victolero said on Wednesday.
“I’m very satisfied; the preparations and practice we did are showing up for him. Like I said, our goal is to build our chemistry and the progression of our players,” the Magnolia coach added.
In Magnolia’s first PBA On Tour game against Blackwater on Sunday, Laput contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Hotshots won, 117-83.
The 6’10 center was also impressive during the Hotshots’ game against Converge on Wednesday, where he chipped in eight points and grabbed 10 boards. (MJD)
