Jamike Jarin loves to compete against Aldin Ayo
Ever since NU head coach Jamike Jarin and UST head coach Aldin Ayo crossed their paths in NCAA and UAAP, the latter always had the upper hand in terms of winning record and team’s success.
This Season 81, however, it is Jarin and the rest of the NU now has Ayo’s numbers, including a recent 69-61 win against UST, on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
Despite owning a 2-0 record against the former Letran and La Salle coach, Jarin downplays his achievement, ad well as their storied rivalry.
“It’s never about Aldin Ayo and Jamike Jarin. We’re just two coaches that found a way to compete in NCAA and UAAP, and we’re never gonna be bigger than that,” said Jarin.
“He’s my dancing partner we’re just two coaches that likes to compete against each other.”
Although the former San Beda gave credit Ayo and the rest of the UST squad, there is one thing that Jarin praised about himself.
“Ayo is a nice guy, I’m the nicer guy. He is good-looking, but I’m more good-looking,” he joked.
