Jason Kidd candidate for the next Lakers head coach
Amongst potential candidates, NBA Hall of Famer Jason Kidd may be the one to replace current Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton for the next season.
As per ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, “While ex-Cal star and Hall of Famer Jason Kidd is expected to be a target for his old school for their newly opened head coach job, a source said he is still strongly interested in returning to the NBA as a head coach and could wait to see what opens up.”
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN also tweeted that “Kidd will be among the serious candidates for the Lakers coaching job if Luke Walton is dismissed, league sources tell ESPN. That’s expected to give Kidd some pause on pursuing the Cal opening now.”
Coaching isn’t new for Kidd as he became the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets last 2013-14 season before transferring to Milwaukee Bucks in 2014, but he was fired amidst the 2017-2018 campaign. With the Lakers currently out of the playoffs picture, many people are expecting Luke Walton’s departure. Whether bringing Jason Kidd to LA may be beneficial or not to the team, one thing is for sure: some changes are needed within the Lakers in order to bring glory back to their team.
