CREAMLINE Cool Smashers remained unbeaten in the 2026 PVL Invitational Conference after surviving a tough five-set battle against Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-18, 24-26, 25-22, 23-25, 15-4, Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Cool Smashers improved to 3-0 and moved within one victory of securing a place in the championship match, while the Foxies dropped to 1-2 and remained in fifth place.
Jema Galanza led Creamline’s charge with 26 points and was named Player of the Game after also delivering 18 excellent receptions and 11 excellent digs for a triple-double.
Jaja Santiago-Minowa provided crucial support with 17 points, while Alyssa Valdez and Diana Carlos contributed 12 points each.
The match went down to a deciding fifth set after Farm Fresh forced the extension by taking the fourth frame, 25-23.
Creamline, however, quickly regained control in the final set and pulled away early to close out the match.
Farm Fresh was led by Frances Molina, who finished with a game-high 27 points. Trisha Tubu and Honey Royce Tubino added 19 points apiece.
Creamline will have a chance to clinch a spot in the Invitational gold medal match when it faces Thailand’s EST Cola at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Farm Fresh, meanwhile, must win its next game to keep its finals hopes alive when it battles defending champion PLDT at 1:30 p.m. Friday. (Adrian Co)
