Jimmy Butler stays with the 76ers
Despite rumors that Jimmy Butler will leave the Philadelphia 76ers, his agent Bernie Lee clarified that Butler will remain in Philly.
Butler has not always been comfortable being with the 76ers since coming to them in November. Last January he and coach Brett Brown had a tense discussion regarding his court time. Butler expressed his distate for how he’s being used in the 76ers’ offense, and he has a reputation for being headstrong and vocal.
When asked by Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer about those rumors, agent Lee told him, “Jimmy is as committed today as he was the day he got traded here (76ers) as being a part of a championship team, he looks forward to it being built with him and around him.”
It seems that Butler will now lead the team to a championship. He averages 18.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in the 31 games he has played for Philadelphia.
The team is currently in the 5th spot of the Eastern Conference and has high chances of making it to the playoffs. (Janiel Abby Toralba)
