Joel Embiid attributes his NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award not only to hard work but also to the power of positive thinking.
Embiid shared an old tweet from 2014 where he posted his own version of MVP rankings, with himself at the top of the list, followed by LeBron James, the late Kobe Bryant, Chris Bosh, and Tony Parker.
His reposting of the tweet shows that he spoke his MVP success into existence years ago.
“MVP rankings in a couple years,” he said in his 2014 tweet.
The most important thing that came true from his old NBA MVP ranking was that he became the league MVP.
“SPOKE IT INTO EXISTENCE,” said Embiid of his old Twitter post.
The 29-year-old center was drafted in 2014 but did not make his debut until 2016 due to a foot injuryn.
Despite the delay, Philadelphia’s patience with Embiid paid off as he led the franchise to multiple playoff appearances. In this year’s MVP race,
